Al Loper is President of Centaur Technology, succeeding founding President Glenn Henry in early 2019.
Before being named president, Al led Centaur's CPU development and provided technical leadership and project management for several generations of Centaur CPUs. Inspired by Glenn's corporate culture focused on the enablement of developers, Al joined Centaur in 1995 as a Logic Design Engineer. He has worn many hats over the years, including designing and architecting functional blocks from scratch and driving the static timing and synthesis flows.
Prior to joining Centaur, Al held logic design and design verification positions in IBM's CPU, GPU, and multi-processor systems development teams.
Al holds a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his talented wife and five children, sampling from Austin's many microbreweries, hiking, and reading.
